Marine Wildlife Response Technician

Saltwater Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Marine Wildlife Response Technician. This part-time position will support the Pacific Islands Regional Office (PIRO) Protected Resources Division in responding to live and dead animal strandings in the field and in NOAA facilities on Oahu.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct initial assessments and dispatch staff and volunteers to respond to stranding events.
- Extract and transport deceased animals, secure scenes, and provide initial support to live animals.
- Collect and manage data, including photo documentation, on-scene monitoring, and remote support for response staff.
- Coordinate logistics and assist with postmortem procedures, data collection, and sample processing.
- Compile and enter stranding response data into NOAA's online systems.
- High school graduate with four years of college-level education in a biological or scientific field.
- Experience conducting field work in Hawaii and managing volunteers.
- Marine wildlife stranding response and handling experience.
- Public outreach experience in marine conservation.
The ideal candidate will be a leader, self-motivated, and detail-oriented with excellent communication skills. Salary range is $29-$31 per hour. Saltwater Inc. is an equal opportunity employer and encourages qualified individuals with disabilities and protected veterans to apply.
