Job Summary

As an Intervention Paraprofessional, you will work under the supervision of teachers to support students with behavioral challenges. The ideal candidate will have experience working with students, possess strong math and literacy education skills, and excel in classroom and behavior management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide supplemental instruction to individual students or small groups
  • Monitor student behavior and communication, redirecting inappropriate behaviors, and administer behavior intervention programs
  • Help students build social skills and foster healthy concepts
  • Assist teachers in developing and using materials to enhance learning
  • Participate in the Problem-Solving Model-Response to Intervention (PSM-RtI) process to help determine intervention plans and Individualized Education Program (IEP) services
  • Attend team and parent meetings and provide input on student strengths and weaknesses
Requirements
  • A High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) is required
  • Be at least eighteen 18 years of age
  • Meet the paraprofessional requirements as defined in IDAPA, "Rules Governing Uniformity."
  • Previous experience working with children in a school setting, daycare, or Montessori environment is a plus
Physical Requirements
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times
  • Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization's facilities
