Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Press Operator to join our team at Iconex. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for supporting the setup and operation of our press or coater, as well as supporting equipment. Key Responsibilities
  • Support the setup and operation of the press or coater, as well as supporting equipment
  • Prepare work zones and components before setups and during operation
  • Load and unload components during setup
  • Obtain cardboard packaging, form boxes, print labels, pack finished material into boxes, and seal entire units when finished
  • Comply with all Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) standards, regulations, and rules
  • Participate in EHS training, safety observations, and hazard identification
  • Seek and implement Continuous Improvement (CI) activities through teamwork and CI process participation
  • Monitor and document product quality during all phases of operations
  • Identify and load or unload raw materials and finished goods
  • Build and label boxes and pallets, then pack and seal as needed
  • Move pallets, stack them, and shrink wrap in preparation for shipment
  • Operate fan folder, sheeter, bagger, tape machine, turret, or other finishing equipment
  • Support the setup of the press/coater and the turret/sheeter/folder or other finishing equipment
  • Prepare, test, and apply adhesives, inks, releases, or other chemistry to support operations
  • Measure and adjust pH, viscosity, and color of ink, varnish, adhesive, or other chemistry
  • Mount printing plates and dies onto cylinders
  • Assemble components to be put on prep carts to expedite machine setup
  • Select, identify, insert, and remove plates, aniloxes or gravure cylinders from presses as well as components from turrets or finishing equipment
  • Clean and store aniloxes, gravure cylinders, or printing plates
  • Read and understand job instructions and supporting documentation
  • Cover a running machine during breaks or extended gaps during the day
  • Maintain 6S housekeeping standards of work zones and walkways
  • Support inspection and rework of materials as needed
  • Contribute to a team effort by proactively assisting coworkers
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
  • Manufacturing experience preferred
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Basic computer and math skills
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Ability to read scale within 1/64
  • Ability to enter data legibly and accurately into forms as well as computers
  • Ability to read, write, interpret, and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, memos
  • Ability to communicate effectively with coworkers and all levels of management
  • Ability to work as a team with others to meet business requirements
  • Ability to maintain regular and predictable attendance
Physical Requirements and Environmental Conditions
  • Regular exposure to manufacturing environment with one or more unpleasant hazardous conditions
  • Ability to lift products up to 50 lbs multiple times per day
  • Ability to repetitively lift 25 lbs frequently
  • Ability to work in a standing position for long periods of time
  • Other physical demands include climbing, crouching, bending, reaching, stooping, etc.
