Job Title: Speech Language Pathology Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Speech Language Pathology Assistant to join our team at SpeechCom Children's Speech Therapy Cent.

Job Summary:

The Speech Language Pathology Assistant will provide support to our speech-language pathologists in the treatment of speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders. This role will involve implementing speech and language programs or activities as planned and directed by our speech-language pathologists, monitoring the use of alternative communication devices and systems, and assisting with client screenings and assessments.

Responsibilities:

  • Implement treatment plans or protocols as directed by our speech-language pathologists.
  • Document clients' progress toward meeting established treatment objectives.
  • Assist speech-language pathologists in the remediation or development of speech and language skills.
  • Perform support duties such as preparing materials, keeping records, maintaining supplies, and scheduling activities.
  • Collect and compile data to document clients' performance and to assess program quality.
  • Select and/or prepare speech-language instructional materials.
  • Assist with paperwork as needed such as making copies, filing or distributing documents as requested by SLP.
  • Assist speech-language pathologists in the conduct of client screenings and assessments of language, voice, fluency, articulation, and hearing.

Requirements:

  • Excellent listening and communication skills.
  • Strong ability to recognize nuances in speech.
  • Basic understanding of the concepts of Speech Pathology.

Education and Experience:

  • Training in vocational school, related on-the-job experience, or an Associate's degree required.
  • Current California state-issued SLPA license.
