Job Title: Middle School Science Teacher

We are seeking a highly qualified and dedicated Middle School Science Teacher to join our team at Helix Community Schools.

Job Summary:

The Middle School Science Teacher will be responsible for teaching science to middle school students, developing and implementing engaging lesson plans, and assessing student progress. The ideal candidate will have a passion for science education, excellent communication skills, and the ability to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Teach science to middle school students, including planning and delivering lessons, assessing student progress, and providing feedback.
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that meet the needs of diverse learners.
  • Assess student progress and adjust instruction to meet the needs of individual students.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to ensure a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current on best practices in science education.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Science Education or a related field.
  • Valid Louisiana teaching certificate.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Passion for science education and a commitment to student success.

Classification under Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA):

This position is exempt from any and all overtime payments.
