Job Summary
Lynx EMS is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Dispatcher for Emergency Medical Services. In this role, you will be responsible for answering incoming calls, triaging emergencies, and dispatching medical units to patients in need.
Key Responsibilities
- Answer incoming calls and administer non-emergency and emergency responses
- Triage calls and enter data into computer systems
- Monitor dispatch systems to ensure units are en-route and post moves are completed in a timely fashion
- Communicate routing instructions to medical units
- Assist with routine maintenance of the Communication Center
- Investigate and report time exceptions
- Complete and submit daily reports
- Assist in training new personnel
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Highly organized and accountable
- Professional and courteous communication skills
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work independently
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year experience with medical terminology and emergency medical transportation
- Thorough geographic knowledge of service areas
- Competent radio communication skills
