Job Responsibilities and QualificationsNeuro Medical Surgical Nursing Role
The Registered Nurse delivers direct patient care in accordance with the Registered Nurse Practice Act.
Employs therapeutic communication techniques in daily practice. Ensures a safe and therapeutic environment. Identifies nursing challenges tailored to the individual needs of patients. The Registered Nurse formulates personalized patient care plans while adopting a collaborative approach. Engages in performance improvement initiatives. Provides care and coordinates efforts that align with the hospital's mission and vision.
In a charge nurse capacity, Registered Nurses oversee daily operations to guarantee quality patient care in a supportive environment. Assign staff based on patient needs, acuity, and staff competencies. Act as a role model and clinical resource for team members. Respond promptly to inquiries or follow-ups regarding physician, staff, or patient matters.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess, plan, and evaluate patient care requirements while executing physician orders.
- Administer prescribed medications, change dressings, clean wounds, and monitor vital signs.
- Document and communicate patient conditions appropriately using computerized systems.
- Educate patients and families as part of a multidisciplinary care team.
Required Qualifications:
- Registered Nurse from an accredited nursing program.
- Current licensure with the Tennessee Board of Nursing.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification within six months of hire.
- Preferred: One year of clinical nursing experience.
