Professor and Chair of Earth, Environmental, and Sustainability Sciences

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Professor and Chair to lead the School of Earth, Environment, and Sustainability at Georgia Southern University. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching, research, and service, with a focus on advancing the school's mission and goals.
Responsibilities- Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in the school's programs
- Conduct research and publish scholarly articles in top-tier journals
- Develop and implement curriculum and programs to meet the needs of students and the community
- Provide leadership and guidance to faculty and staff in the school
- Engage in service to the university and the community through committee work, outreach, and other activities
The successful candidate will have a Ph.D. in environmental science, geology, geography, geosciences, sustainability science, or a closely related field. They will also have a strong record of research and teaching, with a minimum of 5 years of experience as a professor at the associate level. The ideal candidate will have experience working with graduate students, a commitment to advancing a strong research agenda, and a proven track record of leadership and service.
