LaborOne Staffing is seeking experienced Shipfitters to join a dynamic team on a major project. This role involves working with metal structures, ensuring precision and quality in every aspect of the construction process.

• Assemble, cut, and grind metal components according to blueprints and specifications.
• Align parts precisely for seamless integration within the ship's structure.
• Tack and weld structural members, ensuring robust and secure connections.
• Utilize layout tools and reference lines to accurately position components.
• Collaborate with other skilled tradespeople to achieve project goals.

• Minimum two years of hands-on experience as a Shipfitter.
• Demonstrated proficiency in blueprint reading and understanding ship terminology.
• Comprehensive knowledge of various metals and their properties.
• Exceptional burning, welding, and craftsmanship skills.
• T-1 welding certificate required for FCAW (flux core), SMAW (stick) is a plus.
• Ability to pass a practical assessment conducted by the shipyard.

• Interpret blueprints and technical drawings to determine component placement and dimensions.
• Cut, shape, and fit metal structural parts for precise integration into the ship's framework.
• Tack weld and fully weld structural members, ensuring adherence to industry standards.
• Operate high-reach equipment such as condors, sky climbers, and scissors lifts safely and efficiently.
• Set up tools and equipment at the worksite, maintaining a clean and organized environment.

This role demands physical stamina and dexterity. You'll be required to lift up to 50 lbs., stand for extended periods, climb ladders or equipment, reach overhead, and work in confined spaces. You must possess excellent hand-eye coordination and the ability to hear warning signals.
