Job Summary

The Department of the Navy - Agency Wide is seeking a skilled Welder to perform a variety of tasks related to welding and metalworking.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify and associate metals, alloys, and filler metal by color code and standard markings
  • Produce welds to the acceptance standards of NDT, strength, tightness, or pressure tests
  • Use test methods for determining metals or alloys
  • Inspect completed welding projects
  • Use various welding machines and welding processes to weld piping parts or structures
Requirements
  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty
  • Must be able to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators, and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift
  • Must be able to work in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present
  • Must be able to travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites
Qualifications
  • Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying
  • Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time
