Position Overview

University Physicians Association is seeking a dedicated full-time Medical Assistant (MA) to join our collaborative team in a thriving specialty practice.

Work Schedule: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Key Responsibilities

General Duties: The Medical Assistant will handle incoming phone inquiries related to medical concerns and assist in patient examinations and treatments under the supervision of a Physician. This role also alleviates other medical staff from administrative, clinical, and clerical tasks.

Essential Functions

The following duties may be part of the role:

  • Evaluate medical records for urgent requests and specific patient needs.
  • Assist in clinic operations under the guidance of the Nurse Manager, including patient rooming and data collection for medical documentation.
  • Coordinate with medical facilities to arrange patient testing.
  • Deliver patient education as directed.
  • Manage incoming clinical inquiries, assess patient issues, and respond in accordance with established clinical protocols.
  • Utilize electronic medical records while adhering to HIPAA regulations.
  • Follow practice policies regarding appointment scheduling, insurance verification, and telephone communications.
  • Provide support to clinical services as assigned.
