We are seeking a skilled Dialysis Nurse to join our team at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. As a Dialysis Nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in our inpatient and outpatient dialysis units.
Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care to patients undergoing dialysis, including assessing patient needs, developing and implementing individualized care plans, and evaluating patient outcomes.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and ensure seamless transitions between departments.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians, and monitor patients for adverse reactions.
- Conduct regular rounds to assess patient condition, identify potential issues, and implement interventions as needed.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes.
- Current WI RN license and BLS certification.
- Minimum 2+ years of experience in dialysis nursing, with a focus on inpatient settings.
- Prior experience with CRRT and Peritoneal Dialysis required.
- Trauma level II experience highly preferred.
Shifts are variable, with 6, 8, 10, and 12-hour options available. Start times may vary depending on patient and clinic needs. Every other weekend and holiday are required, with possible call 1-2 times per week as needed.
Unit OverviewInpatient dialysis units operate with a 1:4 patient-to-nurse ratio, with dialysis tech support. Outpatient units have a 1:8 patient-to-nurse ratio. Unit-specific information is subject to change based on patient needs and unit requirements.
