The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory (APL) is seeking an experienced professional to join our team as an International Trade Compliance and Export Licensing Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and assessing classification and jurisdiction of program hardware, software, technical data, and services enumerated under the ITAR, EAR, and Customs Regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Guide mission areas by managing and assessing classification and jurisdiction of program hardware, software, technical data, and services.
  • Review program and project proposals and contracts to determine licensing and compliance requirements associated with foreign interaction complexities.
  • Recommend import/export contract clauses that facilitate the use of various ITAR and EAR exemptions, Technical Assistance Agreements (TAA), and Manufacturing License Agreements (MLAs).
  • Be the first point of contact for trade licensing and compliance support, providing coaching on import/export forms and record-keeping requirements.
Requirements:
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience working with the International Traffic in Arms Regulations and the Export Administration Regulations.
  • Working knowledge of DECCs and SNAP-R licensing systems and international export and import shipping practices.
  • Strong organizational skills and proficiency in MS Office programs and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent level of experience.
  • Able to obtain an interim Secret level security clearance by start date and ultimately a Top Secret clearance.
Estimated Salary Range:$63,000 - $175,000 annually
