About the Role

The Diesel Generator Technician at Allstate Sales Group is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of diesel-powered generators. This includes regular inspections, diagnosis, repair of mechanical and electrical systems, and performing preventive maintenance to ensure uninterrupted operation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect, maintain, and repair diesel engines and generators to ensure optimal performance.
  • Perform regular preventive maintenance, including oil changes, fuel filter replacements, and coolant flushes.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and fuel system malfunctions.
  • Repair or replace faulty parts such as alternators, starters, wiring, and other generator components.
  • Install and test diesel generators and auxiliary systems as required.
  • Interpret technical manuals, diagrams, and wiring schematics to guide repair and maintenance.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
  • Keep accurate records of services performed and parts used.
  • Respond to emergency repair requests in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with other technicians and management to ensure the efficient operation of all equipment.
Requirements
  • General High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in diesel mechanics is preferred.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation (may be required for off-site repairs).
  • Technical 2+ years of experience as a diesel generator technician or in a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of diesel engines, electrical systems, and mechanical repair techniques.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
  • Experience with using diagnostic tools and equipment.
  • Proficient in troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues.
