Economic Services Supervisor

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Economic Services Supervisor to join our team at the State of Vermont. As a key member of our Economic Services Division, you will play a critical role in overseeing the administration of economic benefits to support Vermonters in need.
Key Responsibilities- Plan, assign, and review the work of eligibility and contracted call center staff.
- Evaluate staff performance and reassign workload as necessary.
- Interpret policies, procedures, program regulations, and directives, providing technical assistance as needed.
- Confer with district and central office staff, as well as staff in other agencies, regarding general problem areas or individual cases.
- Assess staff training needs through performance monitoring and develop and administer district trainings for new and experienced staff.
- Perform monthly case reviews and track employee trends and performance to provide growth opportunities for employees.
- Train and encourage staff in promoting client participation in programs to achieve self-sufficiency.
- May assist in training staff of contractual agencies.
- Address client complaints and staff conflicts within the office.
- Assist the district director in developing needed community resources and familiarizing staff with existing resources.
- May provide information or trainings on Department programs to community groups.
- Regularly provide and review statistical and quality control reports and other data.
- Participate as a member of the GA Housing management team.
- Act on behalf of the district director in their absence and make decisions on issues such as General Assistance exceptions, vendor payments, housing assistance, and others.
- Perform special studies and surveys when required and participate in departmental task forces and committees.
- High School diploma or equivalent and five (5) years of experience as a Benefits Program Specialist or Reach Up Case Manager or case management experience at the same level in a human services, employment and training or education field.

- Associates degree and three (3) years of experience as a Benefits Program Specialist or Reach Up Case Manager or case management experience at the same level in a human services, employment and training or education field.
- OR
- Bachelor's degree or higher and one (1) year of experience as a Benefits Program Specialist or Reach Up Case Manager or case management experience at the same level in a human services, employment and training or education field.
