Avera St. Mary's: A Top 20 Rural Community Hospital
Incentives: Eligible candidates may receive a $15,000 sign-on bonus with a three-year commitment.
Position Overview:
- Sign-On Bonus: Potential eligibility for a $15,000 sign-on bonus with a three-year commitment.
- Student Loan Assistance: This role qualifies for Avera's Student Loan Repayment Program, providing monthly contributions of $167 (up to $10,000) to help reduce your loan balance.

Key Responsibilities:
- Review physician orders, conduct patient evaluations, and develop treatment plans and objectives.
- Administer therapeutic and diagnostic procedures (including ECGs, EEGs, Stress Tests, and PFTs) in accordance with departmental protocols and assess patient responses to treatments.
- Provide recommendations to physicians regarding patient therapy.
- Assist in discharge planning and educate patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Accurately document relevant information (patient assessments, treatments administered, patient responses, and educational instructions).
- Utilize necessary documentation tools, such as log sheets and electronic records, to ensure accurate record-keeping.
- Maintain effective communication with patients, families, and colleagues to foster teamwork.
Qualifications:
Must possess a Registered Respiratory Therapist credential from the National Board for Respiratory Care.
Must be licensed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner in the state.
Work Schedule:
- Standard hours are Monday to Friday, 6:00 am to 7:00 pm, with every fourth weekend/holiday/call; 72 hours over two weeks.
Certifications:
- Current certifications in BLS, PALS, NRP, and ACLS are required.
Compensation:
The hourly wage for this position is competitive and based on experience, starting at $39.50 per hour.
