Job Title: Sediment Remediation Engineer, Geologist, or Scientist

We are seeking an experienced Sediment Remediation Engineer, Geologist, or Scientist to join our team at Geosyntec Consultants. As a key member of our sediment remediation practice, you will be responsible for growing our practice while contributing to challenging environmental projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Business development, including bringing in new clients and obtaining repeat business from existing clients, leading proposal preparation, and developing and implementing a business development plan.
  • Task and project management, including planning and implementing investigation and remediation projects, budgeting and budget management, adherence to schedule, quality, client satisfaction, and profitability.
  • Management and mentoring of junior staff and managing subcontractors.
  • Work plan development, data evaluation, and report writing.
  • Data analysis, including preparing maps and figures using GIS/Environmental Visualization Software (EVS) applications, and database management.
  • Prepare technical reports, letters, memoranda, plans, specifications, and proposals.
  • Review and manage written document production.
  • Prepare for and participate in meetings with clients, regulatory personnel, and other parties.
  • Conduct fieldwork, including multi-media environmental sampling, sediment sampling and characterization, drilling oversight, contractor oversight, and remediation system operations, maintenance, and construction.
  • Direct multi-disciplinary project teams.
  • Help broaden our reputation via publishing and visibility at prominent industry conferences.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, geology, or related field.
  • Advanced degree in the same preferred.
  • Professional registration (i.e., P.G. or P.E.) preferred.
  • At least 7 years of direct environmental consulting experience in the Pacific Northwest marketplace or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience with multi-disciplinary project teams.
  • Demonstrated success in the development and management of clients.
  • Proven leadership skills.
  • Ability to succeed in a fast-paced consulting environment, handling multiple project assignments, meeting strict deadlines, and traveling to client facilities as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prior research experience in contaminated media or remediation technology.
  • Previous field experience, for example, sediment sampling, porewater sampling, observation of well installation, soil sampling, groundwater sampling, and/or other field techniques.
  • Regional visibility through involvement in professional associations or trade organizations.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements related to environmental remediation.
  • Current OSHA 40-hr HAZWOPER training and refreshers.
  • Health & Safety training, medical monitoring, and client-driven drug and background testing may be required.
  • Valid U.S. drivers license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel.
