Key Responsibilities:
  • 50% System Administration: Install, tune, upgrade, troubleshoot, and maintain all computer systems relevant to supported applications, including operating system administration, user account management, disaster recovery strategy, and networking configuration.
  • 20% Automation: Automate the installation and configuration of applications in development and production environments.
  • 15% Problem Prevention and Troubleshooting: Develop and implement techniques to prevent system problems, troubleshoot incidents to recover services, and support root cause analysis.
  • 10% Knowledge Enhancement: Improve engineering job knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, benchmarking state-of-the-art practices, and participating in professional societies.
  • 5% System Evaluation: Evaluate new systems by performing in-depth tests, including end-user reviews, and research software and related products to support recommendations and purchasing.
Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.   • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or Computer Science.
  • Experience: 3 years of software, hardware, and/or systems engineering experience.
  • In Lieu of Education: An additional 4 years of relevant work experience is required in addition to the required work experience.
Preferred Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess knowledge of system engineering tools, advanced knowledge of programming languages and web-based technologies, proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, and excellent communication skills both written and verbal.

The incumbent is required to immediately disclose any debarment, exclusion, or other event that makes them ineligible to perform work directly or indirectly on Federal health care programs. The ability to effectively work in a fast-paced environment with frequently changing priorities, deadlines, and workloads is essential. The candidate must be able to meet established deadlines and handle multiple customer service demands from internal and external customers, within set expectations for service excellence.

The incumbent must be able to effectively communicate and provide positive customer service to every internal and external customer, including customers who may be demanding or otherwise challenging.
