Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team at Methodist Hospital. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our respiratory therapy department.

Responsibilities
  • Perform and document patient assessment, including breath sounds, airway patency, and cuff pressure.
  • Conduct diagnostic procedures to evaluate the need for, and response to, respiratory therapy.
  • Administer respiratory care therapies, including oxygen delivery, aerosol medication delivery, and chest physiotherapy.
  • Assist with placement of artificial airways and initiate, monitor, and maintain mechanical ventilation.
  • Monitor patient for therapeutic response and notify provider and intervene as appropriate in the event of an unintended response.
  • Assist with transportation of ventilator-dependent patients and respond to emergent patient situations, ensuring airway integrity and adequate ventilation during resuscitation as required.
Requirements
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
  • State Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification.
  • Certified Respiratory Therapy Technician (CRTT) or Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) certification.
