Job Overview

HealthPort is seeking a skilled Medical Assistant to join our team. As a Primary Care Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting our healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist providers with office visits and provide skilled nursing services as scheduled.
  • Document information in the organization's electronic medical records (EMR) system.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA laws, CARF accreditation standards, and Maryland State Regulations.
  • Escort patients to exam rooms, take vital signs, and document information in patient records.
  • Disinfect and clean treatment rooms, maintain a safe and healthy work environment, and dispose of contaminated supplies properly.
  • Collaborate with rehabilitation and treatment plans, and staff to serve clients' needs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Requirements:

  • Licensed Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) / Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) or Certified Medical Assistant.
  • Two years of experience working with mentally ill adults preferred.
  • Highly developed organizational and communication skills.
  • Availability for work, including some evenings as needed.
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification.
  • Ability to partner with colleagues and peers to meet agency mission and healthcare needs of populations served.
