About the Position

This role is responsible for providing transportation services in support of the Defense Health Agency (DHA) within the Washington, DC National Capital Region.

Duties:

  • Provide transportation support to the Department of Patient Administration MEDEVAC team when required.
  • Provide transportation support to hospital staff and Troop Command when required
  • Provide transportation support to Wounded Warriors for event transportation.
  • Perform required administrative duties
  • Provide customer service to the entire hospital community through knowledge and phone courtesy.
  • Vehicles driven will include:
    • Patient Evacuation Vehicle (PEV)
    • Medical Ambus 44 passenger
    • Ambulances
    • Luggage Truck
    • All Airbrake vehicles
    • Vans, sedans, pick-ups, SUV's

Qualifications:

  • Be a US Citizen
  • Have a CDL Class A with Passenger (P) and Airbrake Endorsements
  • Have 7+ years' experience as a driver in the National Capital Region
  • Be able to successfully pass a Tier III background investigation and suitability
  • Have basic computer skills
  • Have a High School Diploma or Equivalency
  • Be able to successfully complete Emergency Vehicle Operator Course (EVOC) and maintain certification as required
  • Be able to complete GSA Defensive Driver's Course within 90 days of being on board
  • Be able to remain current with licensing/certificates/training by Continuing Education
  • Be able to read, write, speak and understand English well enough to effectively communicate with customers, supervisor and dispatchers for assignments, route information and customer service

Job Type: Full-time with Some Overtime Hours at Time and a Half Rates
