Facilities Maintenance Supervisor

NRP Jones, LLC is a leading domestic producer of hydraulic hoses and fittings, industrial hoses, and oil field hoses, operating through several complementary divisions across the United States. We cater to distributors and original equipment manufacturers throughout all 50 states, Canada, and internationally. Our services span various sectors, including agriculture, mining, construction, industrial machinery, automotive, military, and aviation, among others.
Role Overview:
As the Facilities Maintenance Supervisor, you will take charge of all maintenance operations within the organization. Your main goal will be to ensure the seamless functioning of machinery, equipment, and facilities, thereby reducing downtime and enhancing productivity. You will manage a team of maintenance personnel, create preventive maintenance strategies, and organize maintenance schedules to align with production goals and safety protocols.
Key Duties:
Team Leadership:
• Guide, mentor, and oversee a team of maintenance personnel.
• Offer training and development opportunities to boost technical expertise and knowledge.
• Cultivate a culture of safety, responsibility, and ongoing improvement within the maintenance team.
Maintenance Strategy and Scheduling:
• Design and execute preventive maintenance plans to enhance equipment reliability and longevity.
• Organize maintenance tasks, including planned shutdowns, repairs, and equipment enhancements.
• Prioritize maintenance activities based on urgency, resource availability, and production needs.
Equipment and Facility Oversight:
• Perform regular assessments of machinery, equipment, and facilities to pinpoint maintenance requirements and potential concerns.
• Coordinate repairs and troubleshooting efforts to minimize downtime and ensure peak performance.
• Supervise the installation, commissioning, and decommissioning of equipment and systems as necessary.
Inventory and Parts Management:
• Maintain a stock of spare parts, tools, and supplies essential for maintenance tasks.
• Set reorder thresholds, monitor inventory levels, and manage the procurement of spare parts and supplies as required.
Budget Management:
• Develop and oversee the maintenance department budget, covering labor, materials, and contractors.
• Identify avenues for cost reduction and efficiency enhancements in maintenance operations.
Safety and Compliance:
• Ensure adherence to safety regulations, standards, and procedures related to maintenance tasks.
• Conduct risk evaluations, implement safety protocols, and promote a secure working environment for maintenance staff.
• Collaborate with other departments, such as Health and Safety and Environmental, to address safety and compliance matters.
Documentation and Reporting:
• Keep precise records of maintenance activities, including work orders, equipment histories, and maintenance logs.
• Generate reports on maintenance performance, downtime analysis, and key performance indicators (KPIs) for management review.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Mechanical, Electrical, or a related field. Advanced degrees or relevant certifications (e.g., CMRP, PMP) are advantageous.
- Demonstrated experience in maintenance management, ideally within a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Strong technical understanding of machinery, equipment, and systems, including mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components.
- Proven leadership and team management abilities, with a talent for motivating and developing a diverse maintenance workforce.
- Exceptional planning, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with an emphasis on proactive maintenance strategies and continuous improvement.
- Familiarity with preventive maintenance software systems and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) for planning, scheduling, and tracking maintenance tasks.
- Knowledge of safety regulations (e.g., OSHA, NFPA), environmental regulations, and industry standards related to maintenance operations.
- Effective communication skills, capable of collaborating with cross-functional teams, contractors, and external stakeholders.
- Strong analytical abilities, with the capacity to analyze data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions to enhance maintenance performance.
- Willingness to work outside regular business hours as necessary and respond to maintenance emergencies or production demands.
• This position may require occasional travel for supplier visits, training sessions, or conferences.
• Flexibility in working hours may be necessary to accommodate maintenance activities during scheduled shutdowns or off-peak production times.
