Key Responsibilities

  • Process and analyze patient samples in a timely and efficient manner, adhering to standard operating procedures and quality control measures.
  • Set up, operate, and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment, ensuring optimal performance and accuracy.
  • Perform phlebotomy procedures on patients as needed, adhering to infection control protocols and patient safety guidelines.
  • Complete and maintain accurate records of patient test results, specimen handling, and laboratory procedures.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to interpret laboratory results and provide accurate information to support patient care.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of laboratory policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Associate of Science (AAS) degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or a related field.
  • WV Licensure as a Laboratory Technician (MLT) within 90 days of hire.
  • Certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) or American Medical Technologists (AMT) is preferred.
  • Experience as a Medical Laboratory Technician is preferred.
