Remittance Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Payment Poster Specialist to join our team in the billing office.

The ideal candidate will have at least one year of experience working in accounts receivables, remittance processing, or a similar medical billing or customer service role.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Process and post high volumes of billing statements.
• Update account adjustments and keep records of account standings.
• Manually and electronically process payments and reconcile details.
• Prepare payment batches and conduct audits for billing cycles.
• Assess explanation of benefits (EOBs) from insurance companies.
• Post all personal, insurance, and liability payments to appropriate accounts with minimum errors.
• Apply manual payments and auto payments to accounts.
• Investigate unidentified payments and contact senders as needed.
• Reconcile shortages on both paper and electronic EOBs.
• Assist in performing comparison of downloaded files to Direct Deposit and correct discrepancies.
• Contact patients, insurance, or third-party administrators for clarification.
• Set up Electronic Remittance Advantages (ERA) for payors.
• Keep accurate billing records and report discrepancies to accounting.

The estimated salary for this position is $50,000 - $70,000 per year, depending on experience.
