About the Opportunity:

We are seeking a talented Oncologist to join our team as a Clinical Investigator in sarcoma and malignant melanoma at VCU Health.

About the Role:

  • As a Clinical Investigator, you will be responsible for developing and implementing clinical trial protocols, working collaboratively with laboratory-investigators to translate laboratory findings into new treatments for cancer, and ensuring resources are utilized optimally for advancing the clinical research program.
  • You will also be involved in teaching medical students, residents, and fellows in the lab and while in the clinic, actively participating in providing clinical research opportunities to fellows.
  • In addition, you will attend on the inpatient wards and consult service, and/or see patients in the outpatient clinic with a focus on sarcoma and melanoma.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develops and implements clinical trial protocols.
  • Collaborates with laboratory-investigators to translate laboratory findings into new treatments for cancer.
  • Ensures resources are utilized optimally for advancing the clinical research program.

Requirements:

  • Board certified or eligible in medical oncology or hematology.
  • Eligible for Virginia licensure.
  • Clear evidence of accomplishment/potential (e.g., publications) during medical school, residency, fellowship, and/or early academic career.
  • Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU.

Estimated Salary: $250,000 - $350,000 per year.
