The Radiology Technologist will be responsible for performing diagnostic radiographic procedures and related techniques to produce high-quality images for interpretation by licensed practitioners. This role requires a strong understanding of radiation safety protocols and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities- Perform diagnostic radiographic procedures, including fluoroscopy, c-arm, and portable units, to produce optimal study results.
- Correctly use all equipment in the clinical area, adhering to hospital guidelines for radiation protection.
- Assist physicians and radiologists in procedures requiring sterile technique, such as administering radiopaque contrast media.
- Assess patient conditions prior to and during radiologic procedures, providing optimum patient care and documenting relevant information.
- Corroborate patient clinical history with procedure information, ensuring accurate documentation for licensed practitioners.
- Perform minor equipment repairs and upkeep, communicating issues to supervisors or logging problems.
- Associate Degree in Radiologic Technology from an AMA-approved program.
- Graduation from an accredited radiologic technology program.
- Entry-level graduate radiologic technologist accepted, depending on shift and technical responsibility.
- Preferred: Two years of experience in an acute care setting as an X-ray technologist.
- Licensed by the Texas Department of State Health Services as a Medical Radiologic Technologist.
- Registered in Radiology by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) (R).
- Basic Cardiac Life Support certification obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
