Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Radiology and Interventional Technologist to join our team at Heart Hospital of Austin. As a key member of our Imaging Services department, you will be responsible for providing technical assistance to physicians during diagnostic and interventional procedures. Your expertise will ensure the efficient and effective procurement, utilization, and stewardship of technical, physical, and human resources within the Imaging department.

Responsibilities
  • Perform radiological and interventional procedures in a timely manner, documenting required information and communicating with primary physicians and direct care staff.
  • Coordinate and assist patient care in collaboration with radiology technologists, physicians, nurses, and allied health staff.
  • Evaluate patient conditions to perform radiological and interventional exams.
  • Inform and explain procedures to patients, ensuring their cooperation.
  • Provide comprehensive direct patient care, ensuring a safe and comforting environment.
  • Consult with staff as necessary to meet patient and family needs.
  • Ensure availability and safe utilization of clinical equipment and supplies.
  • Possess knowledge of patient growth and development across the lifespan.
  • Perform Point of Care procedures according to established policy and procedure, documenting required information and complying with quality control standards.
Requirements
  • Associate Degree in Radiology or equivalent.
  • Graduate of an educational program in radiology accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) or equivalent.
  • Current Medical Radiologic Technologist certification with the Texas Medical Board (TMB).
  • One of the following current American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT)/Registered Radiologic Technologist RT(R), (VI) license.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification within 30 days of employment start date.
