About the Role:
We are seeking a meticulous and proactive Financial Controller to become an integral part of our team. In this role, you will oversee monthly closing processes, manage invoicing, prepare financial statements, and supervise ongoing accounts payable and receivable operations. Your primary objective will be to guarantee precise and timely financial reporting, along with effective management of cash inflows and outflows.

The ideal candidate will possess a solid accounting background, with experience in more senior positions, and an understanding of the unique challenges and dynamics of the startup landscape, particularly within the technology sector.

Excellent communication skills are essential, as you will need to convey financial information clearly across various departments and to executive leadership.

A Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage month-end closing activities
  • Conduct balance sheet reconciliations
  • Calculate Cost of Goods Sold (COGS)
  • Prepare month-end accruals
  • Compile monthly financial statements
  • Execute monthly invoicing procedures
  • Facilitate back-office processes for new partner onboarding
  • Oversee collections to maintain short Days Sales Outstanding (DSO)
  • Ensure accuracy in vendor invoice reconciliations
  • Accurately record and classify all bills across General Ledger accounts
  • Resolve disputes related to partner invoicing and vendor billing
  • Conduct ongoing working capital analysis

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree (or higher) in accounting, finance, or a related field
  • A minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance
  • Previous roles should include Senior Staff Accountant, Accounting Manager, Assistant Controller, or Controller
  • Strong understanding of fundamental bookkeeping and accounting principles
  • Experience with financial statement compilation
  • Proven ability to calculate, post, and manage accounting figures and financial records
  • Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and accounting software such as Quickbooks and Stripe
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Customer service orientation and negotiation skills
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications:

  • U.S. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is highly preferred

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Competitive salary range of $60,000 - $75,000, based on experience
