Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform manual and automated routine blood tests, including centrifugation and examination of specimens.
  • Prepare and operate laboratory equipment, such as centrifuges, dry bath incubators, and blood bank refrigerators.
  • Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals, performing a variety of tasks with a high degree of creativity and latitude.
  • Typically reports to a supervisor or manager and is familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the laboratory field.

Requirements:

  • Requires graduation from an accredited Medical Laboratory Technician program and passing a national exam given by the Board of Registry of the American Society for Clinical Pathology.
