Position Overview

The Senior Cost Accountant role is accountable for managing capital budgets and overseeing asset management, including inventory and fixed assets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing capital budgeting processes
  • Reviewing proposals related to acquisitions, disposals, and budget assessments
  • Conducting physical inspections of fixed assets
  • Performing physical inventory counts
  • Updating policies regarding fixed assets and delegation of authority
  • Establishing standard operating procedures for capital budget and asset management
  • Providing monthly reports on capital budgets and asset management to senior leadership
  • Assisting in the evaluation of accounting and financial reporting implications related to inventory and fixed assets, and liaising with external auditors
  • Executing additional responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or Finance
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in either public or private accounting
  • Proficient understanding of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Strong financial analysis and problem-solving capabilities

Preferred Qualifications

  • CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or CPA candidate
  • Experience with SAP
