Key Responsibilities
  • Assembly and Testing: Oversee the final assembly, testing, and quality control inspection of machinery before shipment.
  • Field Installations: Conduct field installations and provide professional service to customers, ensuring timely resolution of issues.
  • Technical Support: Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to provide technical support for machinery upgrades and configurations.
  • Product Testing: Test customer-supplied product samples to determine equipment compatibility and configuration requirements.
  • Customer Education: Lead customer product testing, demonstrations, and technician education initiatives.
  • Spare Parts Management: Review and recommend spare parts lists for new machinery.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and problem-solving to enhance customer value.
  • Resource Utilization: Effectively utilize company resources to identify failures and causes during service calls.
  • Compliance: Adhere to company policies, procedures, and industry standards (OSHA, ANSI/PMMI, NFPA, NEC).
Requirements
  • Education: Associate's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience: 1+ year experience as a Machine Builder, 5+ years as a Service Technician.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in PLC, electrical (AC/DC fundamentals), machine shop (mill and lathe technology).
  • Communication Skills: Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and ladder logic.
  • Software Proficiency: Demonstrable proficiency in MS Office, AutoCAD, and SolidWorks.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Continuous Improvement: Willingness to learn and continuously improve.
  • Travel: Travel required, typically 25-30% annually.
  • Physical Demands: Physical requirements include standing for extended periods, ability to move parts/components up to 50 lbs, and wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
