Packaging Setup Technician

The Packaging Set-up Technician plays a crucial role in the manufacturing process, ensuring the smooth operation of production equipment and maintaining high-quality standards. Under the guidance of the Packaging Supervisor, this individual will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining manufacturing production equipment, as well as performing basic preventive maintenance and troubleshooting tasks.
Key Responsibilities- Familiarity with plant equipment safety requirements and adherence to cGMP and GDP methodology.
- Working knowledge of company-specific computer software, including eInfotree, Blue Mountain, and Antares.
- Ability to find and follow all company SOPs and recognize unsafe situations, escalating them to more seasoned technicians when necessary.
- Basic mechanical experience and ability to troubleshoot minor mechanical breakages.
- Capacity to complete line changeovers and basic machine PMs with assistance.
- Operate and clean packaging line equipment, continuously assessing equipment in operation to identify and eliminate repetitive minor stoppages.
- Assist with SOP/JOB AID/Setup sheet development and suggest redesign of equipment or procedural changes to improve packaging processes.
- Log-in and complete all assigned SOPs and compliance trainings in eInfotree.
- High School Diploma or equivalent education required.
- 1 or more years of manufacturing experience and 1 or more years of basic mechanical experience.
- Computer literacy and ability to listen and learn from more seasoned technicians.
- Ability to perform in a team environment, open-minded, and flexible.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work weekends, holidays, rotating shifts, and both scheduled and unscheduled overtime.
The Packaging Set-up Technician will work in a typical office environment, requiring the use of typical office equipment. The individual must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs and wear safety glasses and proper gowning on the production floor.
