Legal Administrative Assistant - Constitutional Defense and Special Litigation

The Utah Department of Human Services is seeking a Legal Administrative Assistant to join the Constitutional Defense and Special Litigation Division. This role involves a range of legal administrative tasks, including the preparation of legal documents, managing trial schedules, organizing data and exhibits related to litigation, and providing essential support to attorneys and legal assistants to facilitate legal operations within a state agency.

Key Responsibilities

Compose and prepare reports or other written materials from various source documents and transcriptions. Process documents electronically, ensuring accuracy and completeness, and generate necessary legal tables. Edit written materials for clarity, format, and organization. File documents electronically with courts and assist in trial preparations. Gather data and review research materials, ensuring the accuracy and relevance of sources. Maintain calendars and coordinate appointments effectively. Draft correspondence, reports, and other written materials as required. Answer calls and greet visitors, providing information or directing them to the appropriate personnel. Organize and maintain filing systems, ensuring easy retrieval of documents. Prepare electronic pleadings and documents using various software applications.
