Job Title: House Supervisor RN

As a House Supervisor RN, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our nursing units and providing leadership to our nursing staff.

Job Summary:

The House Supervisor RN is responsible for directing and supervising patient care throughout the assigned shift, assessing and arranging for the needs of the on-coming shift, and maintaining adherence to policy and procedure. This role requires strong leadership and communication skills, as well as the ability to make decisions in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver nursing care in compliance with nursing standards of care and practice.
  • Makes decisions on a variety of unit and department personnel needs, meeting patient care requirements and financial expectations.
  • Integrates the department into the primary functions of the hospital by cooperating with other departments and services.
  • Demonstrates administrative effectiveness by assuring adequate staffing for all shift personnel, advising and supporting unit staff nurses in prioritizing needs.
  • Encourages open communication with staff members in order to gain participation in problem solving and planning.
Requirements:
  • Currently registered in the State of Virginia, or eligible for licensure.
  • Prefer Baccalaureate Degree.
  • Five (5) years of previous nursing experience in an acute care setting and six (6) months of learning time on the job for a total of five and one half-years.
  • Must maintain BLS and ACLS certifications.
