About the Position

TJFACT is seeking a well-qualified Security Specialist to support our DHS-OIG client in Washington D.C. The purpose of this position is to support OIG's Asset Management, Security, and Readiness Support (ASR), which enables OIG mission success through a trusted and engaged workforce who provide and protect employees, assets, and information.

Key Responsibilities
  • Access Control and Security Support: Greet DHS OIG employees and guests, verify security status, and provide access and credential support by scheduling, coordinating, arranging, receiving, and/or producing personal identification verification (PIV) cards, OIG credentials, building badges, or similar items.
  • Inventory Management and Security Equipment Accountability: Assist custodians and ASR officials in maintaining accountability of security equipment and infrastructure, including managing material reports, data entry, and inventory completion.
  • Physical Access Control Systems (PACS) Monitoring and Management: Monitor office PACS, provide access reports, consolidate facility access records, program, assign, or remove user permissions from personnel and physical security systems, and remotely open, bypass, and secure doors during routine and emergency operations.
  • Security Program Administration and Policy Review: Review and evaluate policies, procedures, and guidance documents that pertain to security programs, provide advice, assistance, and support to ASR employees, and assist with implementation and administration of various security program components.
  • Security Reviews and Assessments: Prepare for and participate in official security reviews, internal controls/assessments, and self-inspections, and help prepare reports, evaluate findings, and implement corrective actions.
  • Security Information Management and Research: Maintain automated and paper records, conduct data entry, track and monitor security information, research, interpret, analyze, and apply security guidelines from various sources for OIG application, and evaluate, develop, and implement security plans and procedures.
  • Classification and Protection of Sensitive Information: Determine the classification, declassification, and protection of sensitive and national security information, and assist in developing and implementing security policies and procedures, including classification guides, procedures for document marking, safeguarding, and transmitting, transferring, reproducing, downgrading, and destroying information.
  • Mail and Delivery Management: Receive and distribute mail, courier, classified materials, and other deliveries for the OIG, and ensure appropriate security screening, recordkeeping, and tracking of items.
Requirements
  • Education: High School diploma/GED certificate or higher.
  • Experience: One (1) - four (4) years of security, identity, and credential experience preferably in the National Security, Interagency Security Committee (ISC), or Intelligence Community.
  • Skills and Knowledge: Ability to apply fundamental security, risk management, and program protection concepts, processes, practices, and procedures, implement control and accountability of designated items, conduct inventories, and possess familiarity of HSPD-12, and working knowledge of physical access control systems (PACS).
  • Security Clearance: Active Security Clearance Required.
