The Physician plays a vital role within our multidisciplinary team, which includes healthcare professionals, medical assistants, nursing staff, behavioral health experts, and additional support personnel. This role is essential in delivering primary healthcare services to individuals across all age groups. Responsibilities may encompass shared on-call duties and hospital visits.

Leadership Responsibilities:

  • No supervisory duties

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver primary healthcare services to patients at MCHCC
  • Provide clinical guidance to the healthcare team
  • Act as a collaborating physician under practice agreements with nurse practitioners and midwives
  • Employ electronic medical records (EMR) for patient management
  • Utilize various communication tools for team coordination
  • Perform additional tasks that contribute to our collective objectives, as assigned
  • This outline does not encompass all potential activities

Qualifications:

Essential Skills and Competencies:

  • Bilingual capabilities in English and Spanish preferred, with training provided
  • Experience with Trauma-Informed Care preferred, with training available
  • Familiarity with Motivational Interviewing preferred, with training available
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills

Educational Background and Experience:

  • Valid Physician's license in the State of Indiana is mandatory
  • DEA registration is required
  • State of Indiana Controlled Substance Registration (CSR) is necessary
  • BLS certification is required

Physical Demands:

  • Capability to lift items weighing up to 10 pounds
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Capacity for significant reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching
  • Prolonged computer use may be necessary
  • Reasonable accommodations will be made for individuals with disabilities to perform essential job functions
