Job Summary

Voca is seeking a skilled CT Technologist to join our team on a local contract basis. As a CT Technologist, you will be responsible for performing computerized axial tomography procedures in accordance with established professional and departmental standards and procedures.

Responsibilities
  • Review consultation requests and consult with radiologists as necessary.
  • Obtain patient history for correlation with scan.
  • Ensure billing codes match the exam performed.
  • Begin and end procedures and document all relevant paperwork.
  • Follow through with urgent add-on requests.
  • Pleasantly greet patients and introduce yourself.
  • Explain examination procedures to patients and their families.
  • Provide radiation protection to patients, staff, and self.
  • Perform routine CT scan procedures according to established protocols.
  • Evaluate scans for technical quality and demonstrate anatomy under investigation.
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of all equipment located within the CT department.
  • Identify and communicate problems to immediate supervisors.
  • Recognize emergency situations and initiate code procedures.
  • Administer first aid or CPR as needed.
  • Complete follow-up documentation, such as contrast reaction forms and safety tracking tools.
  • Assist radiologists with CT-guided drainages and biopsies.
  • Verify patient consent and understanding of risks, benefits, alternatives, and follow-up.
  • Prepare and administer contrast media according to department policies and procedures.
  • Evaluate lab values prior to administering contrast media and beginning interventional procedures.
  • Stock supplies, monitor, and report shortages and special order items.
  • Keep work areas clean and neat and maintain daily equipment logs.
