About the Role

ABM is seeking a highly skilled Collection Specialist to join our Quote-to-Cash team. This pivotal role will play a crucial part in managing the company's account receivable portfolio and analyzing collection data to optimize recovery strategies.

The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing delinquent accounts, implementing effective collection procedures, and collaborating with internal teams to mitigate risks and improve cash flow.

Key Responsibilities
  • Account Management: Run AR Aging Reports from the financial system, review cash receipts from the bank and portal system for payment inquiries, and initiate contact with delinquent customers to secure payment and resolve outstanding balances.
  • Collection Strategies: Negotiate payment arrangements and settlements in accordance with company policies and regulatory guidelines, monitor payment trends, and follow up on overdue accounts to minimize losses and maximize recovery.
  • Data Analysis: Analyze collection data to identify trends, patterns, and areas of improvement, conduct research for issues concerning unapplied cash, overpayment, billing, and account reconciliations.
  • Communication and Relationship Building: Record detailed collection notes, maintain customer contact in our financial tools, communicate effectively with customers to understand their financial situation, and provide appropriate solutions.
  • Collaboration and Compliance: Build and maintain positive relationships with clients while adhering to compliance standards and ethical practices, handle inquiries and disputes promptly, and ensure timely resolution and customer satisfaction.
  • Process Improvement: Continuously review and refine collection processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness, collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline workflows and improve overall performance.
  • Industry Knowledge: Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in collection management.
Requirements
  • Experience with large-scale ERP systems.
  • Experience 3-5 years in B2B collection in a large corporate environment.
  • Ability to successfully manage a large portfolio of accounts with high volume.
  • Demonstrated a sense of urgency in addressing internal and external customer needs.
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Proven ability to prioritize tasks and effectively manage time.
  • Willingness to embrace new challenges and take on additional responsibilities.
  • Preferred experience with financial/SOX requirements.
  • Preferred Intermediate Microsoft Office skills (Outlook, Word, & PowerPoint).
  • Preferred Advanced Excel skills (v-lookups, sum-ifs, pivot table, etc.).
  • Experience with E-commerce invoicing, EDI, portal invoicing, and uploading invoices to client's web-based portals.
  • Preferred experience in Corrigo and Service Now (ticketing system).
