Job Summary

Sutter Health is seeking an experienced and visionary leader to serve as the Executive Director of our Women's Health Service Line. This is a unique opportunity to lead a team of healthcare professionals in delivering high-quality patient care and advancing the field of women's health.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to enhance patient care and access, improve financial and operational performance, and drive innovation and continuous improvement across the Women's Health Service Line.
  • Lead and manage a team of service line physician section chiefs and medical directors, working closely with market-level leadership to ensure excellence in clinical programming.
  • Serve as the clinical subject matter expert for the Women's Health Service Line, providing guidance and expertise to stakeholders across the organization.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement programs and initiatives that advance the mission and vision of Sutter Health.
  • Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and other financial plans to ensure the financial sustainability of the Women's Health Service Line.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals, to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices, applying this knowledge to drive innovation and improvement within the Women's Health Service Line.
Requirements
  • MD or DO degree required; MBA, MPH, or MHA preferred.
  • At least 8 years of clinical experience, with a minimum of 5 years in leadership roles managing complex teams within a large health system.
  • Demonstrated leadership in administrative positions in hospital and/or medical group settings, with experience in an academic medical center setting preferred.
  • Proven record of recruitment, retention, and development of physician talent.
  • Leadership experience in a large, advanced, complex health system required, with experience in integrated care systems and pluralistic medical staffs preferred.
  • A proven track record in improving quality and safety in a complex health system is required, with a strong understanding of current trends in healthcare and the implications of changing healthcare environments.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with a broad range of stakeholders.
  • A strong understanding of graduate medical education and experience in teaching/training clinical trainees is preferred.
  • National recognition as demonstrated through involvement in academic and professional societies is preferred.

  • A competitive salary range of $167.10 to $267.37 per hour, with a Sacramento Valley Pay Pay Range of $142.77 to $228.44 per hour.
