POCAAN is seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant/Driver to join our team.

Job Summary

We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate individual to provide medical support services to our clients. The successful candidate will have a strong background in medical assisting, a valid driver's license, and excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities
  • Obtain vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, respiratory rate, height, and weight, and convert weight from pounds to kilograms.
  • Collect and handle specimens, perform point-of-care testing, and use Electronic Medical Records to accurately document medical and surgical history, current medications, and allergies.
  • Schedule appointments, make follow-up phone calls to clients, and manage phone calls to the clinic.
  • Draw blood, administer vaccinations, and provide basic wound care under the instruction of the provider.
  • Provide excellent customer service and maintain a firm understanding of universal precautions and HIV/AIDS.
  • Drive a passenger van, sprinter van, and small mobile medical van across King County, maintaining fuel and maintenance requirements.
  • Have computer experience with MS Word, SharePoint, email, and Outlook, with training available.
  • Work with vulnerable and marginalized communities, including seniors, immigrants, people living with HIV, formerly incarcerated individuals, LGBTQAI+, homeless or unhoused individuals, and those with substance use disorder.

POCAAN is a community service organization dedicated to health equity, improving access to care, and reducing stigma for people living with HIV. We provide medical care, homeless prevention, at-risk youth care, services to previously incarcerated individuals, victims of domestic violence, and senior mobile care, as well as mobile care in the community.
