About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Special Procedures Radiologic Technologist to join our team at Hackensack Meridian Health. As a key member of our radiology department, you will play a critical role in conducting specialized radiologic procedures and providing exceptional patient care.

Responsibilities
  1. Maintain accurate inventory of materials and supplies, recommending procurement of necessary items as needed.
  2. Coordinate patient scheduling with admitting department, referring physicians, and inter-departmental sections.
  3. Document all charges and radiology charges for each exam.
  4. Provide instruction and education to technologists and auxiliary personnel through formal and informal training.
  5. Ensure adherence to radiation safety standards throughout the department.
  6. Assist radiologists and physicians in performing special procedures under their supervision.
  7. Calculate and select proper electronic and technical factors, position patients, and adjust x-ray tables for optimal radiographs.
  8. Ensure patient safety during transfer into and out of the special procedures suite.
  9. Process radiographic images and prepare them for review by radiologists.
  10. Organize and coordinate studies with previous x-ray images.
  11. Use sterile techniques when assisting or setting up sterile trays and equipment.
  12. Maintain the special procedures room in a clean and organized state after each exam.
  13. Operate radiographic equipment in conjunction with mechanical injectors at directed rates and amounts.
  14. Provide direct patient care to patients of all ages, from neonatal to geriatric.
  15. Identify patient needs and modify care to meet those needs, communicating effectively with patients, parents, and caregivers.
  16. Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
  17. Adhere to HMH organizational competencies and standards of behavior.
Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Graduation from an approved School of Radiography.
  • One year of experience in Special Procedures.
  • Registration with the ARRT.

Licenses and certifications required include a Diagnostic Radiography License. VI Certification by the ARRT or CV Certification by the ARRT is preferred.
