Position Overview:
TRC is on the lookout for Electrical Engineers to join our team in Lakewood, CO.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute design tasks that require a foundational understanding of technical drawings,
calculations, specifications, and industry standards related to the assigned projects.

  • Oversee relay protection and control engineering, including comprehensive
design for high voltage substations and transmission projects up to 345kV.

Depending on project complexity, the candidate may be involved in preparing and guiding the development of engineering deliverables for electric substation projects, which includes:

- Creating one-line and three-line diagrams; schematics and wiring diagrams; relay settings and calculations;
- Designing control and relaying panel layouts and specifications; control and relaying panel wiring diagrams; SCADA systems and communication interfaces, including RTUs, HMIs, and IEDs;
- Auxiliary system design, including batteries and chargers, AC & DC load centers, conduit and cable sizing, and backup generator sizing (UPS);
- Drafting commissioning and functional testing specifications; and compiling the overall bill of materials.

  • Possess a fundamental understanding of engineering principles in one or more of the

following disciplines:
Civil Engineering

Communications Systems

Electrical Engineering

Computer Engineering

Mechanical Engineering

Automation Systems

  • Assist in the creation of engineering drawings, calculations, cost estimates,
specifications, evaluations, and requisitions.

  • Cultivate professional knowledge and skills in one or more of the

following areas:
Civil Engineering

Communications Systems

Distribution Engineering

Electrical Control Systems

Substation Design

Protective Relaying

Substation Automation

Transmission Systems

Power Systems Analysis

  • Gain familiarity with the Company's design, construction, QA/QC, and safety
standards, as well as the Company document control system.

  • Ensure thorough and accurate record-keeping and quality of all work
conducted.

  • May require travel to support project needs.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited engineering program
  • Power Concentration preferred, but not mandatory
  • EIT or in pursuit of EIT preferred

Compensation:

In compliance with local regulations, the salary range for this position is provided below.

Compensation will vary based on experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other relevant factors.

Additional Compensation:

Employees may qualify for participation in the Company's annual Discretionary Bonus Program, which is contingent on Company, Business Segment, and Individual performance against Key Performance Indicators that may vary by year and employee.
