We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Urology Advanced Practice Provider to join our team at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus. As a key member of our Urology Service, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, education, and consultation to patients with urologic conditions.
Key Responsibilities- Evaluate and manage patients who are candidates for urology care and/or surgery, including obtaining thorough histories, performing physical examinations, and ordering appropriate testing.
- Monitor overall care and provide education about the risks and benefits of surgical procedures.
- See and evaluate patients in the hospital, provide documentation, assessment, and care planning for outpatient and inpatient stays, and discharge care planning.
- Evaluate and manage patients with urgent or emergent complaints in conjunction with primary surgery.
- Triage patient telephone calls and emails and provide consultation.
- Provide monitoring and continuity of care for patients between physician visits.
- Attend required meetings and participate in committees as requested.
- Support and uphold established organizational policies, procedures, objectives related to quality improvement, safety, environmental, and infection control.
- Provide urologic outpatient and inpatient consultation in collaboration with faculty members and residents.
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a Master's degree in Nursing and/or a graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant Program.
- Ability to obtain a license to practice as an Advanced Practice Nurse and/or Physician Assistant with prescriptive privileges.
- Meets and maintains specific requirements of the Nursing Credential Review Board (Nurse Practitioner) and the Medical Review Board (Physician Assistant).
- At least one year of experience as an APP.
- At least one year of prior experience in a surgical subspecialty or inpatient care.
- Previous experience in a urologic clinical setting.
