Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Advanced Practice Provider to join our team at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus. As a key member of our Radiation Oncology department, you will play a vital role in the evaluation and management of patients with cancer and certain benign neoplasms.

Key Responsibilities
  • Care for patients with a variety of cancer types with an emphasis on palliative care.
  • New inpatient and outpatient consultations in collaboration with the attending physician.
  • Return patient visits for disease surveillance, survivorship, and post-radiation evaluation.
  • Care coordination, including imaging studies and aspects of radiation planning.
  • Management of inpatients with acute issues.
  • Patient education about the process of radiation care and side effects.
  • Management of side effects related to treatment.
  • Assessment of nutritional, psychosocial, and palliative needs.
  • Assisting with patient care if enrolled in clinical trials.
  • Participation in regularly scheduled peer review conferences and possibly multi-disciplinary clinics.
  • Potential participation in procedures after relevant training.

Qualifications
  • Minimum Qualifications:
    • Physician Assistant (NCCPA) or Nurse Practitioner (AANP/AANC) Certification.
    • Ability to obtain Colorado practice license.
    • Ability to obtain prescriptive authority (DEA License).
  • Preferred Qualifications:
    • 2-5 years of experience in the clinical management of radiation oncology patients.
    • Experience assessing patients and developing care plans.
    • Experience teaching both professional and lay persons formally and informally.
