Job Summary

As a Diagnostic Imaging Specialist at American Family Care, you will play a vital role in assisting physicians in diagnosing injuries and diseases by performing radiographic and other diagnostic imaging procedures. Your expertise will be essential in ensuring the highest quality images for accurate diagnoses.

Responsibilities
  • Position patients appropriately for diagnostic imaging procedures, ensuring their comfort and safety.
  • Practice ALARA radiation protection techniques to minimize exposure and ensure a safe working environment.
  • Process images, review for proper identification and quality control, and prepare images for reading by a physician and radiologist overreads.
  • Utilize digital and non-digital diagnostic imaging equipment, adhering to approved radiology techniques and policies.
  • Aid providers with prescribed patient treatments, following approved standards, policies, and protocols.
  • Perform routine maintenance, diagnose malfunctions, and make minor repairs on equipment, arranging for repairs as needed.
  • Complete forms and maintain records, logs, and reports of work performed.
  • Serve as a Medical Receptionist and/or Medical Assistant as needed, adhering to guidelines.
Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Graduation from a state-recognized vocational school.
  • Experience as a Back Office Medical Assistant/Limited X-Ray Tech in an ambulatory care facility or medical group practice.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Windows.
  • A certificate of completion from an accredited limited radiology program, including digital training.
  • An XT X-Ray Permit in torso, extremity, chest, and digital imaging.
  • A MA Certificate.
  • A current CPR Certificate.
