Job Title: Tax Accountant

The Lauridsen Group, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Tax Accountant to join our team. As a key member of our tax department, you will be responsible for participating in all aspects of tax preparation, including sales and use tax domestically and income tax related matters.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare sales and use tax workpapers and reporting documents for multiple states while ensuring timely and accurate filing.
  • Communicate with plant and corporate personnel to obtain necessary documentation and details to support sales and use tax refund claims.
  • Assist in the preparation of workpapers for federal, state, and international income tax and gross receipts tax quarterly and annual reporting requirements.
  • Maintain historical files of tax documents, including federal, state, and international income tax returns and workpapers, indirect tax reporting and filings, federal and state credit workpapers, etc.
  • Assist in the preparation of workpapers for federal and state research and development tax credits.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • General working knowledge of federal, state, and international tax rules.
  • General knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) or equivalent.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to solve problems and work in a team environment.
  • Organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent quantitative and qualitative analytical skills.
  • Ability to think creatively and challenge current processes for improvement opportunities.
  • Ability to maintain high levels of confidentiality related to all duties and responsibilities.
  • High levels of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional during peak periods of activity.
  • Ability to organize large amounts of data in a manner that is easy for others to understand.
