Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Tax Accountant to join our team at Lauridsen Group Inc. This role will be responsible for participating in all aspects of the tax department, with a dual focus on sales and use tax domestically and income tax related matters.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare sales and use tax workpapers and reporting documents for multiple states, ensuring timely and accurate filing.
  • Communicate with plant and corporate personnel to obtain necessary documentation and details to support sales and use tax refund claims.
  • Assist in the preparation of workpapers for federal, state, and international income tax and gross receipts tax quarterly and annual reporting requirements.
  • Maintain historical files of tax documents, including federal, state, and international income tax returns and workpapers, indirect tax reporting and filings, federal and state credit workpapers, etc.
  • Assist in the preparation of workpapers for federal and state research and development tax credits.
Requirements
  • General working knowledge of federal, state, and international tax rules.
  • General knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) or equivalent.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to solve problems and work in a team environment.
  • Organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent quantitative and qualitative analytical skills.
  • Ability to think creatively and challenge current processes for improvement opportunities.
  • Ability to maintain high levels of confidentiality related to all duties and responsibilities.
  • High levels of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional during peak periods of activity.
  • Ability to organize large amounts of data in a manner that is easy for others to understand.
