Overview:

We are representing the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago in the search for a meticulous and seasoned Procurement Supervisor to manage daily procurement operations within the Acquisition Division.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring adherence to purchasing regulations and internal protocols.
  • Evaluating and authorizing requisitions, change order requests, and purchase orders.
  • Serving as a point of contact between vendors, requisitioners, and suppliers.
  • Overseeing staff, ensuring compliance with policies, and conducting performance evaluations.
  • Suggesting workflow enhancements and stepping in as Procurement Manager when necessary.
  • Carrying out additional responsibilities as assigned.

Desired Skills and Qualifications:

  • Comprehensive understanding of purchasing principles, contract management, and supply sources.
  • Proficiency in performing mathematical calculations, effective communication, and efficient supervision of purchasing activities.
  • Familiarity with procurement-related software and applications.

Minimum Requirements:

A bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in business or public administration, along with a minimum of five years of purchasing experience. Additional purchasing experience may be considered in lieu of education, and graduate studies can be accepted as a substitute for experience.

Promotional Criteria:

  • At least one year of service as a Senior Buyer within the organization.
  • Civil service status as a Senior Buyer.
