HOURS: 10:30am - 7pm with a rotating schedule that includes working every other weekend

REPORTS TO: Food Service Director, Assistant Food Service Director

POSITION SUMMARY:

Accountable for the provision of food service to residents, guests, and staff.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Open and close the café in accordance with established protocols.
  2. Manage the cash register and Point of Sale System following Twin Lakes accounting standards. The system is Windows-based with a touch screen interface.
  3. Handle cash transactions and prepare deposits, ensuring the cash drawer is maintained at $150.00 and all discrepancies are accounted for.
  4. Ensure accurate tracking of all food and beverage sales.
  5. Prepare service stations according to the designated meal periods.
  6. Update menus on the serving line and activate the menu display.
  7. Respond to phone inquiries and assist residents with their requests.
  8. Process meal requests, serve food and beverages, and engage with patrons, ensuring proper portion sizes.
  9. Set up the salad and hot food stations on a daily basis.
  10. Record food temperatures prior to each meal service.
  11. Prepare the dining area for service and clean tables at the start and end of the day.
  12. Utilize various tools and equipment, including traditional methods and a dishwashing machine.
  13. Restock items throughout the café as needed.
  14. Maintain cleanliness and standards for table settings.
  15. Follow daily cleaning protocols and document completion.
  16. Participate in cross-training for other dietary roles to provide coverage as necessary.
  17. Report any unusual conditions, behaviors, or resident reactions to the appropriate licensed personnel promptly.
  18. Interact with residents, families, visitors, coworkers, and supervisors in a courteous and professional manner.
  19. Safeguard any confidential information regarding residents, families, and the organization.
  20. Demonstrate knowledge of and comply with all safety protocols and facility emergency procedures.
  21. Adhere to all organizational, departmental, and nursing procedures while performing job responsibilities.
  22. Attend scheduled organizational or departmental meetings and training sessions.
  23. May be required to perform additional duties consistent with the nature of this position that do not significantly alter the job requirements.
Physical Requirements: Continuous walking and/or standing is required; most lifting is light, but the ability to lift up to 25 lbs and push/pull wheeled serving carts and stations weighing between 5 to 500 pounds is necessary.

Education and Experience:
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Proficiency in computer applications, including Windows, Email, and MS Office.
