The GeorgiaGov Public Defender's Office is looking to recruit a Senior Criminal Investigator.

This role involves strategizing and executing investigations to support clients facing criminal charges. Responsibilities include conducting client interviews, analyzing evidence, investigating crime scenes, locating and interviewing witnesses, gathering records, and performing background checks.

The Investigator will collaborate closely with attorneys to foster strong client relationships, formulate defense strategies, and gather supporting evidence. This position also entails providing assistance to clients who require social services. The Senior Criminal Investigator is expected to adhere to timelines for submitting and delivering evidence.

Key Responsibilities: Engages in routine investigative activities. Conducts thorough investigations, which include aiding in witness interviews, interacting with complainants and law enforcement officials, and compiling reports on findings for case preparation. Additional duties may be assigned as necessary.
A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field from an accredited institution AND a minimum of one year of related experience OR three years of experience in law enforcement or a related area OR one year of experience at the lower level of Criminal Investigator 1 (PSP090) or an equivalent position AND P

OST certification Note:
Some roles may necessitate the incumbent to possess a valid Class C driver's license.
